On the eve of the festival, woods are collected and burned in significance of the legend of PRAHLAD escaping unhurt from the fire into which he was carried by Demon Holuka.  Puja to Lord Krishna is the main activities of this day and festival of colors to make happiness and equalness of God and his creation.
